| The Riviera del Conero’ s beaches |

Closed to the Vicolo Relais, the wonderful beaches of Sirolo and Riviera del Conero, an unique coast surrounded by a turquoise sea. About 500 m far from Vicolo, there is Grotta Urbani, a charming pebbly beach with bathing establishments and restaurant by the sea. At a short distance also the San Michele and Sassi Neri, beaches, accessible by walking from Parco della Repubblica or by bus from Sirolo centre. At a distance of few kilometres, in the north coast of Conero there is a succession of white sandy beaches and steep rocky walls falling down into the sea.The Mezzavalle bay, protected by the thin but unshakeable rockscoglio del Trave, it can be reached through a large path. At promontory’s feet and accessible also by car, there is the Baia di Portonovo, the pearl of the Conero’s coast. It represents the favourite destination for people who would like to enjoy the sea and in the meanwhile the green nature. A Napoleonic fort, Fortino Napoleonico, divides into two parts this seaside, and the south part preserves architectural jewels such as the Romanesque church of Santa Maria, direct on the sea, and the De Bosis tower. Settled between the reefs of the mount there is the most representative bay of the Riviera Due Sorelle, which derives its name from the two cliffs rising from the sea.Only two kilometres far, in the south of Sirolo, there is Numana, a ancient town founded by Picenes and famous for its clean sea, its large golden beaches and the harbour. Near also Marcelli and Porto Recanati the most equipped areas of the coast, furnished with a lot of tourist villages, residences, restaurants and hotels. |
