 Ancona: one of the most important harbour of Adriatic sea, on it rises the magnificent San Ciriaco cathedral. Among the artistic and cultural attractions the Santa Maria della Piazza Church eith its valuable façade, the elegant Traiano Arch, the pentagonal Lazzaretto (old hospital) of Vanvitelli, the traders Loggia, Piazza del Papa and the Muse theatre.Loreto: with its Basilica della Santa Casa, an important Marian sanctuary, destination for many pilgrims. Recanati: Birthplace of the famous poet Giacomo Leopardi.In his native house, where his descendants still live, it is possible to visit the library of the poet.  Osimo: A beautiful town at a top of a hill, famous for its Roman-Gothic cathedral and for its important Palazzi. A real underground town is preserved. It has been realised in ancient time and its origin are still object of study and research.Also worth visiting the Medieval Rocca in Offagna. Castelfidardo: Homeland of the Accordion. Macerata: with its Sferisterio, the Neoclassic arena, where the worldwide famous Opera season takes place. In the heart of Piazza della Libertà the other important monuments. Jesi: : the town of Federico II and of the musician G.B. Pergolesi. It has a well preserved medieval town centre. Collection of paintings by Lorenzo Lotto in the Pinacoteca civica.  Grotte di Frasassi: wonderful hypogean complex originated by the flowing water.Ascoli Piceno: a richhistorical city. Piazza del Popolo is one of the most beautiful city centre of Italy. Urbino: the birthplace of Raffaello, worldwide renowned for its historical and artistic treasures. The famous Palazzo Ducale is the finest example of Italian Renaissance architecture. |
